| I have a refurb inspiron 7000 as my work computer. Most eveyone in the office has them. Here's what to expect: 1. In my opinion the LCDs are not as good as some other brands (toshiba, sony, and even some compaqs) 2. I think 5 ppl in the office have had their hard drives crap out within 1-1.5 years 3. About 50% of the batteries have gone bad or totally screwed up (connection b/w battery and laptop no longer works) I'm not sure they are any better or any worse than other manufacturers - just make sure, as was previously stated, to get a good warranty. **NOTE: IF you have home owners or renters insurance call them and find out what their computer policy is. USAA Renter's insurance covers everything on all my computers - EVERYTHING (power surge, accidental damage, HD failure, etc). Just something that everyone should look into before shelling out the $400 or so for a Dell warranty.
